Visionetics International Contributes to Arcom’s Public Consultation on the Future of Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT)

The French Regulatory Authority for Audiovisual and Digital Communication (Arcom) has launched a public consultation on the future of Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) and the broader television ecosystem.

As an industrial player specializing in the distribution and redistribution of audiovisual signals, Visionetics International is proud to contribute to this strategic discussion by sharing its expertise and vision for the future of broadcast infrastructures.

Our contribution is built around a strong conviction: terrestrial television remains a critical infrastructure for addressing tomorrow’s challenges.

It plays a key role in:

  • National digital sovereignty;
  • Network resilience during crises and emergencies;
  • Universal and free access to reliable information;
  • Energy-efficient content distribution.

As viewing habits evolve, we do not see broadcast and IP as competing technologies. Instead, we advocate for a hybrid distribution model that combines the strengths of both broadcast and IP delivery, particularly through the DVB-I standard, which we are currently experimenting with as part of the FAVN initiative.

Our response addresses the technical, industrial, economic, and strategic issues raised by this consultation. It is accompanied by two supporting annexes:

  • A comparative analysis of the environmental footprint of different television reception methods;
  • An introduction to the DVB-I standard and its deployment opportunities.
